Services

At Louisiana Oncology Associates, it is our belief that wellness can be achieved no matter what the circumstances. To this end, we will do our best to provide patients with all the tools necessary to feel well, including

  • Education about a particular illness and how best to manage it
  • Medical care from qualified personnel
  • Emotional care from all our staff

LOA currently has four freestanding offices, the main office in Lafayette and satellite clinics in New Iberia, Opelousas, and Crowley. All the offices are fully staffed with physicians, nurses, a physician's assistant or a nurse practitioner, and medical assistants, and are able to offer a full range of medical services including chemotherapy administration. We also have an outpatient clinic at Ville Platte Medical Center. Patients are both seen and usually treated in either our office or the clinic. Blood transfusions and occasionally some treatments will need to be given at a hospital, either on an inpatient or outpatient basis.

LOA conducts and participates in a wide variety of research studies exploring new and innovative ways to treat cancer. You can learn more about these on our Clinical Trials page.

LOA is also involved in several community services dedicated to improving health care. We actively support the American Cancer Society (by sponsoring Relay for Life), the Games of Acadiana, the Susan Komen Foundation, and contribute to the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic and Hospice of Acadiana.

LOA has an employee on staff to assist patients with completing a Medicaid application. The processing and determination of Medicaid benefits is performed by Medicaid. Please call 235-7898, ext. 500 if you need assistance in completing a Medicaid application. For your convenience, you may download the form here.

The physicians and staff at LOA continually try to treat our patients and families with courtesy, compassion, and respect. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please inform our Practice Manager, Nancy Lormand, at nlormand@laonc.com.

Billing questions can be addressed to our Patient Accounts Manager, Melissa Weber, at mweber@laonc.com.

All medical records are confidential and kept on-site. If you need help in securing your records or have questions, please call our office at (337) 235-7898.
